Grace VanderWaal<\/a> was crowned the winner of the competition show<\/a>\u2019s 11th season, becoming known for her distinct singing voice and ukulele skills when she was 12 years old. <\/p>\n Now 22, WanderWaal returned to social media Monday after an extended break to let her fans know that she would no longer be joining singer-songwriter Natalie Jane on tour. <\/p>\n \u201cHi everyone, it\u2019s been a bit,\u201d her statement read. \u201cIm happy to be back and talk to yall. I unfortunately will not be going on the Natalie Jane tour due to mental health.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been struggling for a while and am choosing myself in this moment. I love you Natalie and know you\u2019re going to kill it, and I\u2019m sorry to anyone who\u2019s disappointed,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n open image in gallery<\/p>\n \u2018America\u2019s Got Talent\u2019 winner, Grace VanderWaal, announced she was stepping away from a planned tour appearance for her mental health (Getty Images for The Recording A)<\/p>\n VanderWaal\u2019s post concluded as she assured fans she would be singing again \u201csoon\u201d and apologized for disappointing anyone who wanted to see her. <\/p>\n \u201cThank you guys for understanding. Again so so much love. \u2013 G,\u201d the singer wrote, further emphasizing her point in the post\u2019s caption by writing, \u201cI apologize, sending love to all of you.\u201d<\/p>\n Many people replied to the \u201cI Don\u2019t Know My Name\u201d singer\u2019s post, expressing that her health should come first and that her fans will still be around when she returns. <\/p>\n \u201cHealth comes first always!!!\u201d Jane wrote. <\/p>\n \u201cMental Health is health,\u201d Today co-host Carson Daly also wrote in the comments. \u201cWish more young artists would be as honest w themselves as you are being. Good on you.\u201d<\/p>\n VanderWaal has previously spoken about her mental health following her time on the competition show, opening up to E! I’m happy it happened, though, because it prepared me for this life.\u201d<\/p>\n The AGT winner\u2019s announcement comes months after her mother, Tina VanderWaal, died in October 2025 after being diagnosed with breast cancer.<\/p>\n \u201cCan\u2019t yet find the words,\u201d the singer wrote on Instagram at the time. \u201cI love you mommy. So much. I wake up and want to call you. I don\u2019t know how to move forward without you.
