Gannon, the former Arizona Cardinals head coach, was the Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator for two of Hargrave’s three seasons with the Eagles. In those two years (2021-22), Hargrave combined for 18.5 sacks and 104 tackles.

This will be Gannon’s first season as the Packers’ defensive coordinator. He replaced Jeff Hafley, who was hired as the Miami Dolphins head coach.

Hargrave signed a two-year contract last year with the Vikings last year after recovering from a torn right triceps that cut short his 2024 season with the San Francisco 49ers.

He started 15 games at age 33 but managed only 3.5 sacks and was set to earn $15 million with a cap number of $21.7 million for the 2026 season.
