If you claim benefits based on someone\u2019s employment history &#8211; e.g. that of a spouse or parent &#8211; the SSA uses the other person\u2019s birthday.<\/p>\n<p>Who\u2019s receiving Social Security benefits today, Mar. 11?<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">As it falls on the second Wednesday in March 2026, today\u2019s payment run covers birthdays between the first and 10th of any month. The SSA\u2019s full three-Wednesdays payment cycle for March is as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Born on 1st to 10th: Weds., Mar. 11Born on 11th to 20th: Weds., Mar. 18Born on 21st to 31st: Weds., Mar. 25<\/p>\n<p>Who doesn\u2019t get their benefits on a Wednesday in March 2026?Certain long-term Social Security recipients<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Beneficiaries who began receiving Social Security retirement, disability or survivor benefits before May 1997 are typically paid on the third day of each month, regardless of their date of birth. This month, these recipients were therefore due to get their benefits <a href=\"https:\/\/en.as.com\/latest_news\/social-security-is-sending-out-benefits-today-mar-3-who-gets-paid-f202603-n\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/en.as.com\/latest_news\/social-security-is-sending-out-benefits-today-mar-3-who-gets-paid-f202603-n\/\">on Tuesday, Mar. 3<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Recipients of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/ssi\/text-over-ussi.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/ssi\/text-over-ussi.htm\">Supplemental Security Income<\/a> (SSI) &#8211; a separate SSA benefit for low-income Americans who are over 65 or have a disability &#8211; are normally paid on the first of the month, no matter their date of birth. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">However, as Mar. 1 was a Sunday, this month\u2019s SSI payment date was brought forward to the nearest business day before then: Friday, Feb. 27.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Unlike the SSA\u2019s retirement, disability and survivor programs, SSI is a purely needs-based scheme. It does not depend on a recipient\u2019s Social Security-tax contributions.<\/p>\n<p>Dual recipients (SSI + regular Social Security)<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">In the U.S., around 2.5 million people receive both SSI and one of the SSA\u2019s retirement, disability or survivor benefits. Social Security beneficiaries can update their banking info using the online \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fFmSHpg-ib4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fFmSHpg-ib4\">my Social Security<\/a>\u201d tool.
