Apple\u2019s rumored foldable iPhone will come with an iPad-style interface that will allow users to view apps side-by-side, according to a report from Bloomberg\u2019s Mark Gurman<\/a>. Gurman also reports that the outer display will be around the size of a small iPhone. The inner display will reportedly come with a wider aspect ratio, similar to Google\u2019s first-generation Pixel Fold<\/a>, but not foldable flagships currently on the market, like the Pixel Fold 10<\/a> or Galaxy Z Fold 7<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Though the updated layout could make multitasking easier, Gurman reports that the folding iPhone won\u2019t run existing iPad apps. Still, Apple is reportedly trying to take advantage of the phone\u2019s larger screen real estate by updating its \u201ccore\u201d apps with a sidebar on the left side of the screen. It will also give developers the ability to make the iPhone versions of their eapps more iPad-like, according to Gurman.<\/p>\n

Instead of using Face ID, Apple\u2019s foldable could integrate Touch ID into the device\u2019s side button, as the \u201cfront panel is too thin to accommodate the Face ID sensor array,\u201d Gurman reports. That means in place of the pill-shaped housing for the front-facing camera and Face ID, Apple will reportedly add a small-hole punch camera instead. Gurman has previously reported<\/a> that the foldable could look like two iPhone Airs stuck together.<\/p>\n

Even without the pill-shaped notch, Gurman reports that the folding iPhone will still include Apple\u2019s Dynamic Island feature<\/a>, which lets users keep tabs on real-time events.
