\n\tAfter failing to respond to a lawsuit from his landlord, Mickey Rourke<\/a> has lost legal possession of his Los Angeles home after falling nearly $60,000 behind on his rent. <\/p>\n

\n\tA Los Angeles County court clerk granted the landlord\u2019s request for a default judgment on Monday, meaning the owner now has the court order needed to enforce Rourke\u2019s eviction. The judgment, obtained by Rolling Stone, confirms Rourke\u2019s \u201crental agreement is canceled,\u201d and the \u201clease is forfeited.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe judgment was granted after the landlord proved that Rourke had been properly advised of the lawsuit. The landlord said he \u201caffixed a copy of the documents in a conspicuous manner\u201d on the property and also sent the summons and complaint by certified mail. (Rourke did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone\u2018s request for comment.)<\/p>\n

\n\tAs Rolling Stone reported<\/a> in late December, the actor allegedly stopped paying his monthly rent last year and owed $59,100 in back payments for the three-bedroom Spanish bungalow that he began renting in April 2025, around the same time he was asked to leave <\/a>the U.K.\u2019s\u00a0Celebrity Big Brother after \u201cinappropriate language<\/a>\u201d and \u201cunacceptable behavior.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe home on Drexel Avenue, in an upscale area near the popular shopping mall known as The Grove, was built in the 1920s. It was previously occupied by Raymond Chandler, the British-American novelist who wrote\u00a0The Big Sleep\u00a0and\u00a0The Long Goodbye, according to the\u00a0Los Angeles Times.<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\tAmid his legal troubles, a GoFundMe was set up<\/a> for Rourke in early January, though he quickly claimed he wasn\u2019t involved<\/a> with the fundraiser. \u201cIf I needed money, I wouldn\u2019t ask for no fucking charity,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019d rather stick a gun up my ass and pull the trigger.\u201d Kimberly Hines, his manager of more than a decade, then admitted that she set up the account: \u201cIf Mickey doesn\u2019t want this help from people that want to support him and his fans, then that money will be returned,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
