{"id":519098,"date":"2026-03-12T12:44:11","date_gmt":"2026-03-12T12:44:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/519098\/"},"modified":"2026-03-12T12:44:11","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T12:44:11","slug":"daniel-craig-passes-on-the-batman-part-ii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/519098\/","title":{"rendered":"Daniel Craig Passes On &#8220;The Batman Part II&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/daniel-craig-passes-on-the-batman-part-ii.jpg\" data-caption=\"Screenshot: Netflix\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" class=\"entry-thumb td-modal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/daniel-craig-passes-on-the-batman-part-ii.jpg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"daniel-craig-passes-on-the-batman-part-ii\"\/><\/a>Screenshot: Netflix<\/p>\n<p>Recently came the rumour that Daniel Craig had been offered the key role of Christopher Dent in Matt Reeves\u2019 \u201cThe Batman: Part II\u201d and, if he passes, Liam Neeson would be offered it next.<\/p>\n<p>The character is said to be the father of Harvey Dent and was initially offered to Brad Pitt and then Stellan Skarsgard, both actors declining.<\/p>\n<p>Now, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldofreel.com\/blog\/2026\/3\/11\/daniel-craig-passes-on-the-batman-ii-role-does-anyone-actually-want-to-play-christopher-dent\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">World of Reel<\/a> reports that Craig, currently prepping for Damien Chazelle\u2019s prison-set movie alongside Cillian Murphy and Michelle Williams, has also passed.<\/p>\n<p>The site also claims they\u2019ve heard the film will see District Attorney Harvey Dent (Sebastian Stan), Commissioner James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright), and Batman\/Bruce Wayne (Robert Pattinson) \u201cforming an uneasy alliance to bring down a serial killer and the city\u2019s entrenched mafia power\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>That sounds like a variation on the classic Batman comic \u201cThe Long Halloween\u201d which chronicles how Gotham went from a city controlled by rival mob families to one overrun by crazy costumed loners.<\/p>\n<p>Also starring in the film are Scarlett Johansson, Colin Farrell, Paul Dano, and presumably Barry Keoghan.
