\u201cSecret Lives of Mormon Wives\u201d star Mikayla Matthews has called it quits on her eight-year marriage to Jace Terry.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe both agreed to do a separation,\u201d the MomTok member admitted in a confessional during episode 9 of Season 4<\/a>, which dropped on Thursday.<\/p>\n The couple\u2019s struggles stemming from intimacy issues and Matthew\u2019s past sexual abuse were one of the main storylines this season. <\/p>\n Mikayla Matthews and Jace Terry (pictured above with their daughter Lottie on \u201cSecret Lives of Mormon Wives\u201d) have called it quits after eight years of marriage. <\/p>\n \u201cWe both agreed to do a separation,\u201d the MomTok member admitted in a confessional during Season 4 of the Hulu show, as seen above. <\/p>\n After beginning couples therapy last season, the couple revealed they hadn\u2019t made much progress.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s so incredible that everyone\u2019s getting these opportunities and going out and living their dreams, but my health has held me back from saying yes to a lot of opportunities,\u201d Matthews said in a confessional, referring to her struggles with a mysterious chronic illness while also being postpartum.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s definitely discouraging and frustrating, and it kind of holds me back in other places in my life, like my marriage with Jace.\u201d<\/p>\n Matthews, 25, and Terry, 30, share four children: Beckham, 8, Haven, 6, Tommie, 4, and Lottie, who was born in July 2025.<\/p>\n The couple (pictured above hugging on the show) tried to work through intimacy issues last season, but both shared that since then, they haven\u2019t made enough progress.<\/p>\n Matthews, pictured here on the show, explained that she needs to work on trauma from sexual abuse she experienced as a child and also focus on her health.<\/p>\n Throughout the season, Matthews also realized she needs to focus on healing from the sexual abuse she experienced as a child \u2014 and she won\u2019t be able to do that if they are also trying to work on their sex life.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel like I\u2019m working on so many different things outside of just sex, and I know that obviously he can\u2019t just be like, \u2018OK, well we can go without that.\u2019 We both get to a point where we feel really helpless about it,\u201d she explained to her co-star and best friend, Mayci Neeley<\/a>, in another scene.<\/p>\n Ultimately, both she and Terry conclude she doesn\u2019t \u201chave the motivation\u201d to tackle the issue and decide to separate.<\/p>\n The episode also showed the heartbreaking moment Matthews moved out of their shared home, as seen above.<\/p>\n As Matthews packed up her belongings, the estranged pair continued to air out their issues.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\tStay one step ahead with all the exclusive tea on your favorite reality TV stars!\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSign up for Virtual Reali-Tea with Danny and Evan, our must-read newsletter!\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\tThank for signing up!\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n During a heartbreaking scene, where Matthews is packing up her things to move out of their shared home, the couple continued to air out their issues.<\/p>\n \u201cAt home, you feel like you can\u2019t focus on your skin and your health because I\u2019m also here,\u201d Terry told her, seemingly explaining why she\u2019s the one leaving the family home.<\/p>\n \u201cI think it\u2019s hard anytime you bring up the stuff with the sex and the intimacy. I feel it\u2019s hard on me because again, my nervous system is already in fight or flight, and I\u2019m already maxed out. My bucket is full,\u201d she explained to him.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s like with the intention of being separated forever,\u201d she continued. \u201cI think we\u2019re obviously still going to see each other every single day.
