Free agent wide receiver Calvin Austin III<\/a> is signing a one-year deal worth up to $4.5 million with the New York Giants<\/a>, agents Drew Rosenhaus and Kyle Lincoln told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The Giants lost wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson<\/a> this week in free agency. Robinson followed former Giants coach Brian Daboll, now the Titans<\/a>‘ offensive coordinator, to Tennessee.<\/p>\n

One of just two players who played out his rookie contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> from their underwhelming seven-man 2022 draft class, Austin recorded three touchdowns and 372 receiving yards on 31 catches in an injury-shortened 2025 season.<\/p>\n

Austin missed three games with a shoulder injury suffered in the Steelers’ win against the Minnesota Vikings<\/a> in Ireland when he threw a block that freed up DK Metcalf<\/a>‘s path for a long touchdown.<\/p>\n

Though he checks in at just 5-foot-9, Austin has earned a reputation as a scrappy, fearless receiver capable of playing wide or in the slot.<\/p>\n

The former fourth-round pick missed his entire rookie season with a foot injury suffered in training camp. After a quiet 2023 season, Austin established himself as a speedy deep threat in 2024 and recorded four touchdown catches and 548 receiving yards, averaging 15.2 yards per reception.<\/p>\n

In three seasons, the Memphis product has amassed 1,110 yards and eight touchdowns on 84 catches.<\/p>\n
