It was 83 degrees and sunny when Las Vegas Aces<\/a> star A\u2019ja Wilson woke up Wednesday morning in Miami.<\/p>\n

The weather offered a reminder of the historic performance by Wilson\u2019s boyfriend, Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo, that she witnessed Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

Adebayo scored 83 points in a 150-129 win over the Washington Wizards at Kaseya Center, etching himself into the NBA record books with the second-highest scoring game in league history \u2014 a performance he said Wilson inspired.<\/p>\n

Wilson, who spends her offseasons living with Adebayo in Miami, posted on social media about the accomplishment just like she posted about Wednesday\u2019s temperature.<\/p>\n

\u201cWelp. Don\u2019t have the highest career high in the house anymore,\u201d Wilson wrote on Threads from the Heat game during Adebayo\u2019s performance. \u201cBut at least it gives me something to go after.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wilson\u2019s career high is <\/a>53<\/a> points, which is the highest among active players in the WNBA and is tied for the league\u2019s all-time mark.<\/p>\n

Although Wilson\u2019s 53 points came in 2023 in a win over the Atlanta Dream, she has earned countless awards, records, accolades and championships since then to remain the most decorated player in her household.<\/p>\n

Power couple shares success<\/p>\n

Last year, Wilson joined Bill Russell as the only players in WNBA or NBA history to win three MVPs and three championships in a four-season span.<\/p>\n

The 2025 WNBA MVP award was Wilson\u2019s fourth, setting the league record for most career <\/a>MVPs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She racked up a few other awards in 2025, as she powered the Aces to their third league title in four seasons, becoming the first WNBA or NBA player to win the title, Finals MVP, league MVP and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s hard to remember a milestone moment during that historic campaign of Wilson\u2019s that Adebayo wasn\u2019t there to witness. He often sat courtside with Wilson\u2019s parents at Michelob Ultra Arena and even presented her the MVP trophy.<\/p>\n

So in a fitting turn of events Tuesday, Adebayo welcomed Wilson to join him at the podium as he addressed reporters on his big night.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe behind the scenes, the workouts, the conversations, they\u2019re very motivating, and you get inspired every day by that,\u201d Adebayo said of Wilson\u2019s impact on him. \u201cSo I\u2019m thankful to have her in my life. She\u2019s going to cry, by the way.\u201d<\/p>\n

With another nod to the woman sitting next to him, Adebayo noted that his performance came after Wilson had finally returned from the weeklong European tour she took as part of the promotion for her latest signature Nike shoe<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She wasn\u2019t there Sunday night when Adebayo scored 24 points, giving him 10,001 for his career \u2014 a milestone Wilson wanted to witness.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe wanted me to wait,\u201d Adebayo said. \u201cTo have 83, the first game she\u2019s here, is very special.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wilson admitted that his latest feat made amends, saying, \u201cHe\u2019s forgiven.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis has been an incredible \u2014 game, obviously \u2014 but journey, for Bam,\u201d Wilson said while sitting beside Adebayo. \u201cWitnessing it firsthand, the highs and the lows of it. It\u2019s been so much fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no denying that they make a great basketball power couple, a status that reached public knowledge when they were often seen together during the 2024 Paris Olympics, when they both won gold with Team USA.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know he says that I\u2019m his inspiration, but I don\u2019t think he has a clue how much he inspires me to continue to be the person that I am, but to show up for him,\u201d Wilson said. \u201cThat\u2019s my biggest goal. Is always, just to be present and show up for him.\u201d<\/p>\n
