By letting go of Davison, the Celtics slid under the second apron, approximately by $1.9MM with 14 players on the roster.<\/p>\n<p>By moving under the apron, the Celtics can send out cash in a trade, can aggregate salaries and are beginning the path to opening their 2032 pick up for trade. As has been reported, the Knicks are among the teams awaiting Simmons\u2019 decision. Several staffers have interest in bringing back Shamet for a second season as well. As Begley writes, the Knicks have enough room under the second apron to bring in a veteran and a player on a rookie free agent deal. 2025 second-round <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/diawamo01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-07-31_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mohamed Diawara<\/a> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hoopsrumors.com\/2025\/07\/cholet-basket-announces-knicks-diawara-headed-to-nba.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">could be a candidate<\/a> for that latter role, though that\u2019s speculation.<br \/>\nIn a subscriber-only post, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/31\/sports\/mikal-bridges-150-million-knicks-choice-puts-him-in-a-different-class\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mike Vaccaro of the New York Post writes<\/a> that by taking a discount on his extension, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/bridgmi01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-07-31_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mikal Bridges<\/a> put himself in rare air and established himself as a core Knick for years to come.<br \/>\nThe Nets announced their preseason schedule for the upcoming season, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.netsdaily.com\/2025\/7\/30\/24477935\/reports-brooklyn-nets-to-open-preseason-vs-hapoel-jerusalem\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">NetsDaily relayed<\/a>.
