Jaylen Brown\u2019s frustrations with NBA officiating<\/a> are well-documented at this point. <\/p>\n

He had such an issue with it after the Celtics\u2019 first loss against the Spurs that he publicly said he would take the fine<\/a> for the curse words he was about to say while commenting on the job the referees did. <\/p>\n

He was ejected during the first half of the Celtics\u2019 loss against the Spurs<\/a> during a confrontation with an official and posted about it on social media after he was thrown out.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the [expletive] I be talking about,\u201d he wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After Thursday night\u2019s loss to Oklahoma City<\/a>, during which reigning league MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander broke Wilt Chamberlain\u2019s record for most consecutive games with 20-plus points, Brown once again voiced concerns about how the game is being called.<\/p>\n

According to Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe<\/a>, Brown did not say which play he had an issue with, but seemed frustrated with the result.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, I just, I don\u2019t foul bait,\u201d Brown said. \u201cI\u2019m not looking to flop or anything like that. But it\u2019s almost like you\u2019ve got to. It\u2019s almost like, because there\u2019s a couple of plays in the fourth quarter, but I feel like I drove strong, and I didn\u2019t get the benefit of the doubt, but maybe if I would have flopped, maybe I was able to sell that call, and those decide games.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cSo it\u2019s like, we commend players for playing the game the right way,\u201d he added. \u201cBut you know, we give the benefit to those who necessarily are trying to manipulate the game to their advantage. I just don\u2019t think it\u2019s basketball. Let\u2019s just play basketball. All the foul baiting, I think is, is whatever for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brown joked that, perhaps, he needed to \u201cflop a little bit more\u201d to increase the amount of favorable calls that he gets. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s one thing to get fouled,\u201d Brown said. \u201cBut it\u2019s like when you\u2019re not even trying to score, when you\u2019re like, driving and flailing your body into them just to make it look like you\u2019re getting fouled, I think that\u2019s the part where it\u2019s like, \u2018Alright, come on.\u2019 But I mean, that\u2019s where our league is at. That\u2019s where the NBA is at. So it\u2019s like, either get down and lay down.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brown played a game-high 41 minutes against Oklahoma City, scoring 34 points during the narrow loss to the defending champions. He made 13 of his 14 free-throw attempts. He had seven assists against six turnovers. <\/p>\n

After the game, he briefly touched on his ejection from Tuesday night\u2019s game in San Antonio. <\/p>\n

\u201cTo be honest, I don\u2019t think I deserved to get ejected,\u201d he said. \u201cObviously, I was pissed that I didn\u2019t get to compete in that game. That was another big time matchup that I circled on my calendar. Obviously, playing against the Spurs, [they\u2019re] a good team, and I came out to a great start. Felt great. I felt like I was ready to have a big-time performance.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd you know, my night got ended short. In certain spots, maybe I could have been a little bit better,\u201d he added. \u201cBut, you know, you\u2019re passionate. It\u2019s a big game. You know, you want to see emotion. You want to see your star players showing that emotion. I don\u2019t think I deserve to get tossed and, you know, I think the NBA agreed because I didn\u2019t get fined or anything like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Celtics have lost three of their last five games, including two out of three on their most recent road trip. They\u2019ll return home for a contest against the Wizards on Saturday.<\/p>\n
