He made his pointe. <\/p>\n

A principal dancer at the famed New York City Ballet \u2014 the same company Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet\u2019s mother and sister performed with \u2014 went viral this week for his jaw-dropping video clapback at the actor for saying no one cares about the classical art form.<\/p>\n

\u201cTimothee you wouldn\u2019t last a day in my shoes . . . or socks,\u201d Jovani Furlan<\/a> captioned the clip, where he is balancing on a bosu ball on demi pointe and lifting his leg in two different positions \u2014 no easy feat.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis alone is more impressive than anything Timoth\u00e9e has ever done,\u201d one commenter noted of the Brazil-born dancer.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour legs are bigger than his whole body,\u201d another quipped.<\/p>\n

Someone else pointed out the obvious, \u201cBallerinas are some of the greatest athletes in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople forget about that, because our job is to make it look easy,\u201d Furlan said.<\/p>\n

The video racked up almost 10 million views on Instagram and TikTok.<\/p>\n

Ironically, the Oscar nominee\u2019s mom<\/a>, Nicole Flender and his sister, Pauline, both studied at the School of American Ballet, whose students perform with New York City Ballet \u2014 so he should know the innate talent, intense training and rigorous schedule it takes to be a ballet dancer.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have seven performances a week. So we have a ballet class for an hour and up to six hours of rehearsal and then a performance,\u201d said Furlan, who started dancing at the age of 11.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also do Pilates almost every day. I go to the gym for weightlifting. And because of injuries, I go to physical therapy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Furlan, who lives on the Upper West Side, had just finished a ballet class and was scrolling on Instagram when he first learned about Chalamet\u2019s comment.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want to be working in ballet or opera, or things where it\u2019s like, \u2018Hey, keep this thing alive,\u2019 even though it\u2019s like, no one cares about this anymore,\u201d the actor said at a CNN and Variety town hall event<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Furlan did not take kindly to the quote.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny profession, but especially in the arts, when you hear someone kind of dissing it, it never feels good. When it\u2019s your livelihood and you put so much effort into it. It really rubbed me the wrong way,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\"Timoth\u00e9eChalamet shouldn\u2019t be \u201cvillanized\u201d for his comment, Furlan told The Post. \/ SplashNews.com<\/p>\n

He had actually filmed the bosu ball balancing act a few days before he heard the Chalamet diss, so felt it was the perfect time to share it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was like, \u2018I\u2019m going to post it now. Now I have something to say,’\u201d he recalled.<\/p>\n

He has been trying to keep up with comments praising his \u201cOlympian level\u201d athleticism, and bashing Chalamet, who is nominated for Best Actor at Sunday\u2019s Academy Awards for his role in \u201cMarty Supreme.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Furlan said Chalamet shouldn\u2019t be canceled.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think Timoth\u00e9e needs to be like villainized,\u201d he said. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of good that we can take out of it . . . People are coming out and saying \u2018I care about the ballet. I care about opera.’\u201d<\/p>\n
