Troopers say the victim, an unidentified Black woman, was walking or standing in the outside center lane when an unknown vehicle struck her. The driver did not stop and continued driving after the crash.Stay up to date: The latest headlines and weather from WPBF 25Investigators report that after the initial impact, the woman was hit by additional vehicles before coming to rest in the roadway. She was pronounced dead at the scene. An independent witness told FHP they saw a small four\u2011door sedan strike the woman but could not provide a detailed description. All northbound lanes of I\u201195 were shut down during the investigation and reopened just after 7 a.m. Troopers attempted to identify the victim through RapidID, but were unsuccessful. The Medical Examiner’s Office is working to confirm her identity through fingerprints. The crash remains under investigation.
