Free agent wide receiver Darnell Mooney<\/a> is signing with the New York Giants<\/a> on a one-year deal worth up to $10 million, sources told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Mooney, 28, joins the wide receiver room alongside Malik Nabers<\/a> and Darius Slayton<\/a>. His presence could prove valuable with Nabers recovering this off-season from a torn ACL and full meniscus repair.<\/p>\n

The Giants, who have said that Nabers is trending for a return at the start of training camp, also signed<\/a> former Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> slot receiver Calvin Austin<\/a> and re-signed Gunner Olszewski<\/a> this past week to fortify their wide receiver room.<\/p>\n

New York lost Wan’Dale Robinson<\/a> as a free agent to the Tennessee Titans<\/a> earlier this week. He led the Giants in receiving yards last season.<\/p>\n

Mooney is a player the Giants were said to have interest in several years back before he signed with the Atlanta Falcons<\/a>. He was cut earlier this offseason after two seasons in Atlanta.<\/p>\n

With the Falcons in 2025, Mooney dealt with injuries and had a down season, with 32 catches, 443 yards and just a single touchdown. He broke his collarbone on the first day of training camp and missed Week 1. Mooney also missed two other games with a hamstring injury.<\/p>\n

Mooney’s first season with the Falcons was arguably the best of his career and he was a good complement to top receiver Drake London<\/a>. In 2024, Mooney had 64 catches for 992 yards and a career-high five touchdowns. Atlanta signed Mooney in the 2024 offseason from the Chicago Bears<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mooney was drafted in the fifth round by the Bears in 2020.
