If you claim benefits based on someone\u2019s employment history &#8211; e.g. that of a spouse or parent &#8211; the SSA uses the other person\u2019s birthday.<\/p>\n<p>Who\u2019s receiving Social Security benefits on Wednesday, Mar. 18?<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">As it falls on the third Wednesday in March, next week\u2019s payment run covers birthdays between the 11th and 20th of any month. The SSA\u2019s full three-Wednesdays payment cycle for this month is:<\/p>\n<p>Born on 1st-10th: Wednesday, Mar. 11Born on 11th-20th: Wednesday, Mar. 18Born on 21st-31st: Wednesday, Mar. 25<\/p>\n<p>Who isn\u2019t paid on a Wednesday in March 2026?Some long-term Social Security recipients<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Beneficiaries who started claiming retirement, disability or survivor benefits before May 1997 are typically paid on the third day of each month, regardless of their date of birth. This month, this group of recipients was therefore due to get their benefits <a href=\"https:\/\/en.as.com\/latest_news\/social-security-is-sending-out-benefits-today-mar-3-who-gets-paid-f202603-n\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/en.as.com\/latest_news\/social-security-is-sending-out-benefits-today-mar-3-who-gets-paid-f202603-n\/\">on Tuesday, Mar. 3<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Recipients of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/ssi\/text-over-ussi.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/ssi\/text-over-ussi.htm\">Supplemental Security Income<\/a> (SSI) &#8211; a separate SSA benefit for low-income Americans who are over 65 or have a disability &#8211; are normally paid on the first of the month, irrespective of their date of birth. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\">However, as Mar. 1 was a weekend day, this month\u2019s SSI payment date was brought forward to the nearest working day before then: Friday, Feb. 27.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Unlike the SSA\u2019s retirement, disability and survivor programs, SSI is a solely needs-based scheme. It does not depend on a recipient\u2019s prior Social Security-tax contributions.<\/p>\n<p>Dual recipients (SSI + regular Social Security)<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Just over 2.5 million Americans claim both SSI and one of the SSA\u2019s retirement, disability or survivor benefits. Social Security beneficiaries can provide their banking information on the online \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fFmSHpg-ib4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fFmSHpg-ib4\">my Social Security<\/a>\u201d tool. SSI recipients should call 1-800-772-1213.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Benefits can also be loaded onto the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/faqs\/en\/questions\/KA-02429.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/faqs\/en\/questions\/KA-02429.html\">Direct Express Card<\/a>, a debit card for federal payments made to recipients who do not have a bank account.
