VERO BEACH, FL \u2014 A bomb threat reported on a JetBlue flight headed from Logan Airport in Boston to Vero Beach, Florida, on Saturday afternoon has been deemed \u201cnot credible,\u201d authorities say. <\/p>\n
Massachusetts State Police said that on Saturday morning, they were alerted by MassPort officials that they had recieved a phone call from an unidentified person who reported that there was a bomb onboard the flight.<\/p>\n
Customers sat on the tarmac for almost three hours as authorities investigated the threat.<\/p>\n
\u201cTroopers assigned to Logan Airport, the Anti-Terrorism Unit, and the Commonwealth Fusion Center worked with our partners in Florida to confirm that the report was NOT credible,\u201d a spokesperson for the Massachusetts State Police said. <\/p>\n
Law enforcement in Florida apologized to customers on the plane and explained to them that although the threat was not \u201cviable,\u201d they still had to go through the necessary precautions. <\/p>\n
In a statement, a spokesperson for JetBlue said the flight from Boston to Vero Beach \u201ctaxied to a remote area after landing as a result of a possible security threat.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cLaw enforcement met the flight and cleared the aircraft. The safety of our customers and crewmembers is JetBlue\u2019s first priority,\u201d a spokesperson for JetBlue added.<\/p>\n
