Manchester United took a major step towards Champions League qualification, and plan to complete the job.<\/p>\n

After playing a key role in Manchester United\u2019s win over Aston Villa<\/a>, Kobbie Mainoo<\/a> says the Red Devils have no plans to ease up.<\/p>\n

A draw would have still been good enough to retain third place on goal difference. United wanted more, and fully deserved the 3-1 victory<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Goals from Casemiro, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko lifted United to the win \u2013 moving a full three points ahead of Villa, while extending the goal difference advantage too.<\/p>\n

Kobbie Mainoo played all 90 minutes in Manchester United\u2019s win over Villa<\/a>, and was in high spirits after the three points.<\/p>\n

Mainoo posted to Instagram: \u201cYh we ain\u2019t finished\u201d, a simple message showing that United are not going to ease up.<\/p>\n

United have eight games left to secure Champions League football for 2026\/27, returning to the competition for the first time since the group stage exit under Erik ten Hag<\/a> in 2023\/24.<\/p>\n

Mainoo\u2019s message sparked a handful of responses from his United colleagues:<\/p>\n

Mainoo\u2019s performance was a return to form after a disappointing display against Newcastle<\/a> individually \u2013 but you can also make a collective point too.<\/p>\n

United appeared to benefit from the rest between games, while Villa tired as the game went on, having played in the Europa Conference League on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

There are eight games remaining this season for United to secure Champions League qualification.<\/p>\n

United\u2019s weekend got even better with Chelsea and Liverpool both dropping points to fall further back.<\/p>\n

Mainoo missed Villa defeat<\/p>\n

Kobbie Mainoo missed Manchester United\u2019s defeat to Aston Villa<\/a> in December, picking up an injury ahead of the game.<\/p>\n

It came at a time when he was desperate for opportunities, and a mid-game injury to Bruno Fernandes would have provided one.<\/p>\n

The misfortune summed up Mainoo\u2019s troubles under Ruben Amorim<\/a>. He did not start a single league game under him in 2025\/26.<\/p>\n

Amorim\u2019s sacking gave Mainoo a fresh start, and he has fully taken advantage of his chance to play a role in a simplified tactical system.<\/p>\n

Mainoo has struck up a connection with Casemiro in midfield that is working, and it is just a shame that the veteran Brazilian is leaving the club<\/a> at the end of the season.<\/p>\n
