Igbinoghene, who spent the past two seasons with the Washington Commanders, is joining the team on a one-year deal, The Athletic\u2019s Michael-Shawn Dugar reported<\/a> on Saturday.<\/p>\n Igbinoghene is one of four outside players Seattle has landed in free agency thus far, along with running back Emanuel Wilson, safety Rodney Thomas II and safety D\u2019Anthony Bell. According to former NFL quarterback Brock Huard<\/a>, Igbinoghene is the most intriguing player of that group.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u201cI think Noah is the most intriguing of them for a few different reasons. Number one, (he\u2019s a) former first-round pick,\u201d Huard said during his Blue 88 segment on Seattle Sports\u2019 Brock and Salk on Monday. \u201cWhen you look at Wilson, the running back from Green Bay, (he was) an undrafted free agent. Thomas, the safety from the Colts, (was) a seventh-round draft pick. \u2026 Each have their own little gifts, but not traitsy like this guy. This guy was super bouncy, super explosive, super traitsy.\u201d<\/p>\n Igbinoghene began his college career at Auburn as a wide receiver. He made the switch to cornerback his sophomore season and was a return specialist during all three year with the Tigers, which included returning a kick for a TD in both his sophomore and junior seasons.<\/p>\n The Miami Dolphins picked Igbinoghene with the 30th overall pick in the 2020 draft following a solid showing at the scouting combine. The 5-foot-11, 197-pound cornerback ran a 4.48-second 40-yard dash and posted a 37-inch vertical, the latter of which was tied for the seventh-best mark among cornerbacks.<\/p>\n But he hasn\u2019t lived up to the expectations that come with being a first-rounder. He started just five games over three seasons with Miami and has just 17 total starts over six pro seasons. The ball skills don\u2019t come real natural,\u201d Huard said.<\/p>\n However, Huard likes the fact Igbinoghene has experience playing both outside and insider corner. He spent the majority of his time playing on the outside in his three seasons with the Dolphins, and in his two seasons with the Commanders, which included a career-high 10 starts in 2024, he mostly played lined up in the slot.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s got a whole bunch of traits, he\u2019s got a lot of versatility and hopefully he can learn the game at a deeper level here in Seattle,\u201d Huard said.<\/p>\n Hear the full conversation at this link<\/a> or in the audio player near the top of this story.
