Taiwan’s TSMC, the world’s largest chipmaker\u00a0and manufacturer of Nvidia’s advanced AI GPUs, rose 1%. <\/p>\n
Shares of automakers Hyundai Motor,\u00a0Nissan Motor<\/a>\u00a0and Isuzu, as well as China’s BYD<\/a> and Geely<\/a> rose after Nvidia<\/a>\u00a0announced it was partnering with these companies<\/a> for its autonomous vehicle development business.<\/p>\n Hyundai Motor advanced 4.74%, while Nissan Motor<\/a> and Isuzu<\/a> rose over 2% and 1.66% respectively. BYD added 2.96% while Geely rose 5%.<\/p>\n Investors also assessed Iran war developments, with U.S. President Donald Trump looking to delay his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping by “a month or so” due to the Middle East conflict. Trump was expected to travel to China at the end of March.<\/p>\n International benchmark Brent crude<\/a> gained 2.45% to $102.57 per barrel, while the U.S.\u00a0West Texas Intermediate<\/a>\u00a0rose 2.51% to $95.85 per barrel as of 8:44 p.m. ET. Prices had dropped on Monday. <\/p>\n Australia’s\u00a0S&P\/ASX 200<\/a> added 0.27%. Australia’s central bank on Tuesday raised benchmark policy rates<\/a> for a second straight time to 4.1%. The 25 basis points hike was in line with expectations from analysts polled by Reuters, and comes as Australia’s inflation stays above the central bank’s upper limit of 3%.<\/p>\n Japan’s Nikkei 225<\/a> added 0.75%, while the Topix jumped more than 1%. South Korea’s Kospi<\/a> rose 2.94%, while the small-cap Kosdaq added 1.53%.<\/p>\n Stock Chart IconStock chart icon Hong Kong Hang Seng index<\/a> rose 0.94%, while mainland CSI 300 rose 0.28%.<\/p>\n U.S. stock futures were flat after the major averages bounced overnight in light of cooling oil prices.<\/p>\n Futures tied to the\u00a0Dow Jones Industrial Average<\/a>\u00a0lost 46 points, or 0.1%.\u00a0S&P 500 futures<\/a>\u00a0slipped 0.1%, while\u00a0Nasdaq 100 futures<\/a>\u00a0declined nearly 0.2%.<\/p>\n Overnight in the U.S., stocks rose while oil prices pulled back as Wall Street tried to recover from another losing week, with investors monitoring the latest developments of the Iran war.<\/p>\n The\u00a0Dow Jones Industrial Average<\/a>\u00a0added 387.94 points, or 0.83%, closing at 46,946.41. The\u00a0S&P 500<\/a>\u00a0rose 1.01% to end at 6,699.38, and the\u00a0Nasdaq Composite<\/a>\u00a0gained 1.22% and settled at 22,374.18.<\/p>\n Meta<\/a>\u00a0shares gained more than 2% on a report \u2014 which the company has called “speculative” \u2014 that it is\u00a0planning to lay off more than 20%<\/a>\u00a0of its workforce.
