\n\tJane Fonda<\/a> will always tell you what she really thinks. The Grace and Frankie star playfully commented on Barbra Streisand\u2019s tribute to Robert Redford<\/a> at the 98th Academy Awards Sunday night<\/a>. \u201cI wanna know how come Streisand was up there doing that for Redford,\u201d she quipped to Entertainment Tonight during an interview at the Vanity Fair Oscar party, \u201cShe only made one movie with him. I made four. I have more to say.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen asked what she most remembered about working with Redford, Fonda laughingly said she \u201cwas always in love with him. The most gorgeous human being and such great values. And he did a lot for movies, he really changed movies, lifted up independent movies.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFonda starred with Redford in The Chase (1966), Barefoot in the Park (1967), The Electric Horseman (1979) and Our Souls at Night (2017).<\/p>\n

\n\tRedford died on Sept. 16, 2025<\/a>, at the age of 89.<\/p>\n

\n\tStreisand paid heartfelt tribute\u00a0to her late\u00a0The Way We Were\u00a0co-star\u00a0Redford<\/a>\u00a0and then sang a passage from its Oscar-winning theme song.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe was a brilliant, subtle actor, and we had a wonderful time playing off each other because we never quite knew what the other one was going to do in a scene,\u201d Streisand said.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe eight-time Grammy-winning singer also praised Redford for having \u201creal backbone on and off the screen.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe spoke up to defend freedom of the press, protect the environment and encouraged new voices at his Sundance Institute, some of whom are up for\u00a0Oscars<\/a>\u00a0tonight, which is so great,\u201d she said. \u201cHe was thoughtful and bold. I called him an intellectual cowboy who blazed his own trail, and won the Academy Award for best director, and I miss him now more than ever.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Jane Fonda will always tell you what she really thinks.
