About 6,500 miles away in Shanghai, Sinner\u2019s countryman Kimi Antonelli was making history as the second-youngest race winner in Formula 1 history.<\/p>\n<p>During the trophy ceremony after defeating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atptour.com\/en\/players\/daniil-medvedev\/mm58\/overview\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Daniil Medvedev<\/a>, Sinner gave fans a glimpse of his dual-sport fandom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been a special day for Italy because I am a huge Formula 1 fan and having a very, very young Italian Kimi bringing Italy back home at the top is amazing. So thanks Kimi and thanks Formula 1,\u201d he said, later telling Tennis Channel he had watched highlights of 19-year-old Antonelli\u2019s breakthrough victory.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.atptour.com\/en\/news\/atp-number-one-club\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/1767418027_359_atp-no-1-club-banner-article.jpg\" alt=\"\u201cATP\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sinner, who became just the third man to win all six hard-court ATP Masters 1000 events on Sunday, spent time with Antonelli at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atptour.com\/en\/tournaments\/nitto-atp-finals\/605\/overview\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nitto ATP Finals<\/a> last year, with the F1 star attending the prestigious event in Turin to support the No. 2 player in the PIF ATP Rankings.<\/p>\n<p>Sinner leaves California holding a 13-2 record on the season, according to the Infosys ATP Win\/Loss Index.
