Meghan Markle<\/a> is in a bit of a jam. In February, \u201cPage Six\u201d<\/a> reported that Netflix, which was an investor in Markle\u2019s As Ever brand<\/a> (and hosted the show<\/a> where she promoted her products), was housing enough unsold inventory that the company was \u201cjust giving it away to employees.\u201d Then, on Tuesday, Variety published a lengthy report <\/a>about Meghan and Prince Harry\u2019s struggles to gain a foothold in the entertainment industry, which suggested yet again that Netflix \u2014 which reportedly divested<\/a> from Markle\u2019s company earlier this month \u2014 might have a major jam surplus on its hands.<\/p>\n According to sources, after the second season of With Love, Meghan<\/a> performed poorly last summer, Netflix had more than $10 million worth of unsold As Ever products taking up space in corporate storage. In order to make some room, the streamer reportedly \u201cstarted giving inventory to employees for free, putting the goods on card tables in various office buildings.\u201d Variety noted that Markle\u2019s tea and baking mixes were taking up shelf space, while \u201cPage Six\u201d claimed\u00a0the array of goods included \u201cjars of jam, candles, wine and Meghan\u2019s famous flower petal sprinkles.\u201d<\/p>\n Yikes. I doubt that Netflix managed to pawn off all $10 million worth of As Ever inventory onto its staff, so somewhere in Los Angeles there\u2019s probably a closet full of jam that one Cut staffer once described<\/a> as tasting \u201cgood in an unremarkable jam way.\u201d So what should\u00a0Markle and her maybe-former business partners do with all of that? I have some ideas.<\/p>\n Do some light rebranding. Slap a new sticker on those jars, call it MrBeast\u2019s Feastable Fruit Frenzy, and watch the money roll in. If none of those ideas is getting Markle excited, she could always just send any extra product directly to me. As a lover of both jam and marmalade who never got to buy an As Ever fruit spread, I would gladly take a jar that is likely on the verge of expiration. The record for largest jam jar<\/a> (1,500.5 kilograms) currently belongs to a group of Lebanese farmers that broke the record as a \u201ctestament to the indomitable spirit of the Lebanese people.\u201d Markle could probably smash that with her leftovers, which would serve as a testament to the indomitable spirit of the businesswomen of Montecito.
