MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – Trinity Health announced Tuesday it has ceased operations at its St. Joseph’s location in southeast Minot.

In a news release, Trinity President and CEO John Kutch said the provider would not be returning clinical or administrative services to the location.

Kutch said following a mechanical issue in early January, Trinity proactively transitioned services and operations from St. Joseph’s to other facilities.

The provider said the move goes along with its long-term facility strategy and vision for healthcare in the region.

St. Joseph’s has been part of the Minot community since 1911, and Trinity assumed operations in 2001.

A spokesperson for Trinity told Your News Leader there were no patients at St. Joseph’s anymore, or functions taking place, at the time of the news.

“For generations, patients, families and caregivers have formed deep personal connections to this historic facility, and we recognize the pride and memories associated with a hospital that has long been intertwined with the history of downtown Minot,” wrote Kutch.

The release states that inpatient rehab and health information management are moving to the medical campus. Financial services and Dot’s uniform shop now work out of Medical Arts. The mailroom is now at Trinity’s Elk Drive location.

Trinity temporarily paused its Adult and Adolescent Psychiatry services while renovations take place inside the hospital.

All other Trinity locations, including the medical campus in southwest Minot, will remain open.
