\n\tDonald Trump<\/a> has opened up a new front in his war with the BBC<\/a>, falsely claiming that the British broadcaster used AI to tamper with his January 6 speech.<\/p>\n

\n\tSpeaking to the press while hosting Irish Taoiseach Micheal Martin at the White House, Trump embarked on a rant about the BBC after being asked about his $10B lawsuit against the corporation.<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\tTrump is suing the BBC for the botched edit of a Panorama<\/a> documentary, which misleadingly stitched together two parts of the president\u2019s Capitol riots speech to make it appear as if he was inciting insurrection. The BBC is trying to get the case thrown out<\/a> of a Florida court. <\/p>\n

\n\tNow, Trump has claimed that the BBC \u201cAI-generated\u201d his words, an allegation that does not appear anywhere in the president\u2019s lawsuit against the UK broadcasting network. Indeed, the lawsuit argued that the BBC \u201cmaliciously sought to fully mislead its viewers around the world by splicing together two entirely separate parts of President Trump\u2019s speech.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring his rant on Tuesday, Trump said: \u201cThey had me speaking something I never said, and I\u2019ve never seen anything quite like it.\u201d He added: \u201cThey put words in my mouth, and they said I said some pretty bad things. And I didn\u2019t say them, it was AI-generated.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tTrump continued: \u201cI\u2019m very proud of the term fake news, because it\u2019s my term. I came up with it, but it\u2019s no longer accurate. It really is. It\u2019s corrupt, fraudulentness. It really is. It\u2019s fraudulent. It\u2019s not just fake. It\u2019s beyond fake. It\u2019s really criminal what they do.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe president also criticized the BBC\u2019s coverage of his war in Iran. \u201cI watched them this morning for some crazy reason, and it was so inaccurate,\u201d he said. \u201cTheir reporting of the war was unbelievable. We have decimated that country. And if you watch BBC, it\u2019s almost like they\u2019re fighting us to a draw. They\u2019re fighting us to a draw.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe BBC declined to comment on Trump\u2019s remarks.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a filing on Monday, the BBC \u201cchallenged jurisdiction\u201d of the Florida court due to the fact that its Panorama documentary did not air in America.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cPut simply \u2013 the documentary was never aired in Florida \u2013 or the US,\u201d said a BBC spokesperson. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t available to watch in the US on iPlayer, online or any other streaming platforms including BritBox and BBC Select. We have therefore challenged jurisdiction of the Florida court and filed a motion to dismiss the President\u2019s claim.\u201d<\/p>\n
