Firefighters battling a trailer fire in Freeport late Tuesday night discovered the body of a man\u00a0inside the burned-out ruins, officials said.<\/p>\n
The Freeport Fire Department was alerted to a trailer on fire on Commercial Street at about 11:45 p.m., Nassau Chief Fire Marshal Michael Uttaro said in a statement.<\/p>\n
The trailer was completely engulfed in flames and\u00a0crews quickly extinguished the fire but then found the man’s body\u00a0in the remains of the trailer, Uttaro said.<\/p>\n
The victim, who was declared dead at the scene, was not yet been identified.<\/p>\n
No other injuries were reported;\u00a0The cause of the fire was under investigation.<\/p>\n
