MILWAUKEE (WLUK) — Milwaukee Brewers fans of all ages will soon be able to enjoy two new amenities at American Family Field.

Team officials held a news conference Wednesday as part of their media preview week leading up to the Brew Crew’s opener against the Chicago White Sox next Thursday.

According to the Brewers, the indoor play area on the right-field concourse has been reimagined. Now formally dubbed The Glove Playground, the space was expanded and fully renovated with refreshed games, including an interactive sausage race game and a new slide. The iconic giant glove fans remains.

Brewers President of Business Operations Rick Schlesinger said it was time for an overhaul, as the popular play spot had become worn down in recent years.

“It’s one of the few places in Major League Baseball where the kids area has direct views of the field, so it’s a great place for parents who want to keep an eye on the kids but also keep an eye on what’s going on the field,” Schlesinger said of The Glove Playground.

Another big project in the works is the new UW Credit Union Plaza, which will be located along the southeast side of American Family Field’s exterior, behind center field. It will be completed in two phases.

The first phase will be open to the public on game days starting in June. The Brewers said this portion will include a Wisconsin-themed mini-golf area, children’s playground, beer garden and performance stage to host pregame entertainment and live music.

The second phase, which is expected to be done by 2027 opening day, will include concessions and other attractions. The team says beverage service will be available on the plaza. For certain games, food trucks and other vendors will offer food.

“It’s really designed for fans who are looking for a great space pregame to bring their kids, bring their families, have a social environment,” Schlesinger said of the UW Credit Union Plaza. “We did a lot of research and this project’s going to be, I think, a huge hit with our fans.”

The plaza attractions will be free, Schlesinger said.

[65
363,99
post-531923","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-mlb","tag-mlb","tag-sports
["GET
