Some stars say the Vanity Fair Oscar party <\/a>cast them in a bad light \u2014 literally.<\/p>\n

Following the high-profile post-Academy Awards soir\u00e9e at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on Sunday, A-list attendees were allegedly complaining of the \u201ccrazy-bright\u201d lighting and \u201cunforgiving\u201d pics.<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt like I was standing under klieg lights,\u201d one guest told the Hollywood Reporter<\/a> following the ultra-exclusive f\u00eate that VF retooled with a slashed guest list, less outside press and a new venue.<\/p>\n

Another attendee joked that she felt like she was hitting early menopause under the glaring lights. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was like a hundred degrees,\u201d the anonymous guest told THR. \u201cI was literally having hot flashes.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Hollywood trade pointed out that the annual affair was previously known for its \u201csublime\u201d red carpet lighting when the party was traditionally in Beverly Hills at the Wallis Annenberg Center. <\/p>\n

A person described by THR as \u201ca longtime party fixture\u201d noted that the \u201cmeticulously calibrated\u201d and flattering lighting was previously \u201cthe secret of the Oscar party\u2019s success.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI felt like I was standing under klieg lights,\u201d one person told THR of the party, which was attended by nominee Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet. FilmMagic<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been shot at a million parties, but the setup for that party was always sublime,\u201d they told the outlet. \u201cWhen you posed for the paps at the\u00a0VF\u00a0gala, even the ugliest stars knew they\u2019d\u00a0 come out all right. It was like magic!\u201d<\/p>\n

But an insider noted that the lighting this year was, \u201cLike being shot in extremely high-def.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou saw a lot of excess pounds and wrinkles that used to be hidden,\u201d they shared. \u201cNobody wants to be photographed like that!\u201d<\/p>\n

A light gray\u00a0<\/a>carpet \u2014 which was new for Sunday\u2019s event \u2014 seemingly made matters worse.<\/p>\n

\u201cI genuinely feel bad for some of these women,\u201d another guest complained.\u00a0\u201cOne poor actress looked like a Diane Arbus character. She was on her phone looking at her pictures and shrieking at her publicist. I heard that she went home and cried herself to sleep. Nobody has heard from her since!\u201d<\/p>\n

The photos made their way to social media where TikTok trolls mercilessly mocked some poor celebs.<\/p>\n

THR further claimed that the morning after Hollywood\u2019s biggest night, some stars opted to share photos taken during Guy Oseary and Madonna\u2019s star-studded party <\/a>instead of the Vanity Fair shots.<\/p>\n

One source said the VF move to LACMA had a glitch: A plan to show off the museum\u2019s new David Geffen galleries fell flat when it wasn\u2019t ready in time, and the party was in a different, less grand wing.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook, it had its problems, but it\u2019s also their first time at this locale,\u201d a guest told the outlet on Monday before quipping, \u201cI\u2019ll still go next year if I\u2019m invited, but hopefully they won\u2019t hire the lighting designer who did the 405.\u201d <\/p>\n

While the event\u2019s frontman, Vanity Fair editor Mark Guiducci, seemingly experienced some stress over the lighting mishap, a Vanity Fair insider said it worked out in the end. <\/p>\n

\u201cFor the first hour, everyone was worried that Mark was having a nervous breakdown,\u201d they claimed, noting that his mood \u201cvisibly brightened\u201d later on in the evening, when he was spotted ditching his green velvet tuxedo jacket to snuggle up to his boyfriend at the bar.<\/p>\n
