The near-freezing temps of earlier this week will be a roasty-toasty memory by the time Friday brings its summer-iffic heat.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>March madness, indeed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, WFAA weather guru and chief meteorologist Pete Delkus wrote on X that \u201cthis weekend will feel more like summer than spring. Highs will generally trend warmer than normal through the end of the month with mostly rain-free conditions.\u201d But that tweet doesn\u2019t sound like a sexy, record-breaking proclamation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Spring Equinox happens Friday morning. This weekend will feel more like summer than spring. Highs will generally trend warmer than normal through the end of the month with mostly rain-free conditions. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/wfaaweather?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#wfaaweather<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/pNpylvg9xs\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/pNpylvg9xs<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Pete Delkus (@wfaaweather) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wfaaweather\/status\/2034283729330335840?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">March 18, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The folks over at the National Weather Service in Fort Worth <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/fwd\/\">add a bit of sizzle to their forecast <\/a>though. Under the headline \u201cRecord Breaking Warmth This Weekend,\u201d the NWS says that \u201cTemperatures will climb above normal by midweek, with widespread highs in the 90s expected this weekend (more than 20 degrees above average for this time of year). Be sure to stay hydrated and take breaks if spending time outdoors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fox 4 <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox4news.com\/weather\/dallas-weather-record-breaking-heat-bad-allergies\">dashes a bit of heat <\/a>onto the proceedings noting that \u201cHighs are forecast to skyrocket into the mid-90s by the weekend, potentially shattering March records while maintaining an elevated fire threat due to dry vegetation and low humidity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To be clear, unless temps soar above 100 degrees, which is not being predicted, we will not see a record-breaking March high temperature, but the \u201cweather whiplash\u201d that 20 to 25 degree swing Fox 4 describes could be the largest Dallas has ever seen in March.
