{"id":535267,"date":"2026-03-20T18:58:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-20T18:58:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/535267\/"},"modified":"2026-03-20T18:58:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-20T18:58:07","slug":"childrens-ibuprofen-recall-fda-issues-notice-for-taro-pharmaceuticals-product","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/535267\/","title":{"rendered":"Children&#8217;s ibuprofen recall: FDA issues notice for Taro Pharmaceuticals&#8217; product"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WASHINGTON (AP) \u2014 Nearly 90,000 bottles of a children\u2019s pain reliever have been recalled due to reports of black specs and other contaminants, according to federal regulators.<\/p>\n<p>The Food and Drug Administration posted <a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/index.cfm?Product=218947\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">an online notice<\/a> about the recall of Taro Pharmaceuticals\u2019 Children\u2019s Ibuprofen Oral Suspension. The company\u2019s website states that the product comes in a berry-flavored solution and is recommended for children ages 2 to 11.<\/p>\n<p>The FDA notice states that the recall was launched earlier this month after customers reported \u201ca gel-like mass and black particles in the product.\u201d Agency regulators categorized the action as one in which the risk of serious injury or health consequences to consumers is \u201cremote.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The medication was manufactured in India by Strides Pharma Inc., which produces generic and over-the-counter medicines for firms in the U.S. and many other countries. Strides initiated the recall, according to the FDA notice.<\/p>\n<p>Neither Strides nor Taro Pharmaceuticals immediately responded to requests for comment Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>___<\/p>\n<p>The Associated Press Health and Science Department receives support from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute\u2019s Department of Science Education and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
