ONTARIO, Ore. \u2014 Residents of Ontario should be aware that a water boil order notice is in effect.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The city of Ontario announced on social media that the pressure in its water distribution system had fallen below 20 psi, resulting in a boil water advisory.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In its initial post, the city states that it lost a water booster pump on the east side of town, and that backup pumps didn’t kick in properly, causing a loss of pressure town-wide.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Ontario emphasizes that residents should boil their water for a full minute before consumption or use in cooking until otherwise notified by the city. At the time of publication, the advisory is still in effect.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking, the city also states.<\/p>\n
The city and Jacobs are working together to flush the system and get all pumps back online, but continue to boil your water.\u00a0<\/p>\n
