A meteor lit up the sky over Palo Alto, California, while a driver was on the road on Sunday.<\/p>\n
CHOWCHILLA, Calif. \u2013 Skywatchers across the U.S.<\/a> witnessed a third meteor<\/a> streaking across the sky within a week’s span.<\/p>\n According to the American Meteor Society<\/a>, well over 200 eyewitnesses across California<\/a>, Nevada<\/a> and Arizona<\/a> reported seeing a fireball<\/a> hurl through the night sky on Sunday.<\/p>\n SEE IT: METEOR CAUGHT ON CAMERA STREAKING OVER PITTSBURGH, REPORTS OF LOUD BOOM ACROSS OHIO VALLEY<\/a><\/p>\n The meteor was first spotted 49 miles above Chowchilla<\/a>, California, moving south at 35,000 mph, and traveling 58 miles before disintegrating above\u00a0Colfax<\/a>\u00a0at about 29 miles in the sky.<\/p>\n This comes after eyewitnesses in both Houston<\/a> and Pittsburgh<\/a> also observed a fiery space rock hurling through the sky this week.<\/p>\n A meteor was caught on camera streaking across the sky in Lago Vista, Texas, on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n According to NASA<\/a>, data indicates one of the objects became visible about 49 miles above Stagecoach, Texas<\/a>, on Saturday, northwest of\u00a0Houston<\/a>, traveling at around the same speed as the meteor observed in the west on Sunday.<\/p>\n The meteor spotted streaking across the Pittsburgh<\/a> morning sky early on Tuesday looked almost like a missile shooting through the atmosphere<\/a>.<\/p>\n WATCH: NASA’S HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE CAPTURES RARE PROOF OF COMET BREAKING APART<\/a><\/p>\n The fireball was initially observed over Lake Erie, moving at about 40,000 mph before traveling over 34 miles and breaking apart, according to NASA<\/a>.<\/p>\n Both meteors spotted in the Pittsburgh and Houston areas produced loud booms.<\/p>\n
