{"id":541844,"date":"2026-03-24T06:46:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-24T06:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/541844\/"},"modified":"2026-03-24T06:46:09","modified_gmt":"2026-03-24T06:46:09","slug":"michael-pittman-jr-i-havent-spoken-to-aaron-rodgers-but-think-he-wants-to-play","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/541844\/","title":{"rendered":"Michael Pittman Jr.: I haven&#8217;t spoken to Aaron Rodgers, but think he wants to play"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. said recently that he and his new Steelers teammates will \u201c<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/michael-pittman-jr-whatever-happens-at-qb-well-make-the-most-of-it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">make the most of<\/a>\u201d whoever is playing quarterback for the team this fall and it remains unclear when they\u2019ll have a better idea about the identity of that player. <\/p>\n<p>Aaron Rodgers has not announced his plans for 2026 and Pittman reiterated on Up &amp; Adams Monday that he believes the team will be in good shape if Mason Rudolph or Will Howard wind up taking the snaps. He also said he is \u201cobviously hoping\u201d to catch passes from Rodgers and that he thinks that will wind up being the case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m trying to give him space because Aaron\u2019s a guy, he likes his space, he likes to get refreshed,\u201d Pittman said. \u201cI didn\u2019t want to just get signed and then blow him up and be like, \u2018Hey Aaron, what\u2019s the deal?\u2019 . . . I think that he <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/live\/UMWxYzdYV_4?t=1340s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">wants to play<\/a>. Just knowing Aaron prior to this, I just think he\u2019s gonna try and play as long as he can.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rodgers hasn\u2019t spoken publicly <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/aaron-rodgers-praises-mike-mccarthy-but-doesnt-say-if-hell-play-this-year\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">about his plans<\/a> in a few weeks and he didn\u2019t offer any hint about which choice he\u2019ll make at that time, so it remains to be seen if Pittman\u2019s perception is the correct one.
