The undisputed queen of the rom-com claimed in an Instagram post on August 1 that nobody told her about a planned Apple TV+ limited-series adaptation of her film <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulture.com\/2020\/12\/cameron-diaz-interview-on-the-holiday-and-nancy-meyers.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Holiday<\/a>. \u201cNews to me,\u201d she posted on her Instagram Story. \u201cImagine my surprise when I opened Instagram and this was the post I saw.\u201d Meyers, who wrote, produced, and directed the original film, <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/movies\/the-holiday-director-denies-sequel-in-development-kate-winslet-cameron-diaz-jude-law-jack-black-nancy-meyers\/https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Cl1RdVFrWho\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">previously denied<\/a> that a sequel was in the works after rumors cropped up in 2022, writing, \u201cSorry but it\u2019s not true.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmdtbunzr000h3b79mzmtz9hk@published\" data-word-count=\"30\">Well, it\u2019s true now! Killing Eve writer Krissie Ducker is executive-producing and writing the new project, with Left Bank Pictures, per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/the-holiday-limited-series-nancy-meyers-apple-tv-plus-1236335943\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, and Catastrophe\u2019s Rob Delaney is consulting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"clay-paragraph\" data-editable=\"text\" data-uri=\"www.vulture.com\/_components\/clay-paragraph\/instances\/cmdtbuo1i000i3b79zf1q6ich@published\" data-word-count=\"64\">The original film focuses on an American woman (Cameron Diaz) living in Los Angeles and a British woman (Kate Winslet) living in London\u00a0swapping homes and finding love over\u00a0the Christmas holiday. Reportedly, the series will not follow the same characters but will keep the same premise.
