The acclaimed Broomsedge Golf Club<\/a> in Rembert, South Carolina, is entering a partnership to create a \u201cwelcoming private club\u201d model with Baker Thompson at the helm and Michael Keiser, Jr. as a senior advisor.<\/p>\n

Keiser and Thompson have worked together for the past decade at Sand Valley, where Thompson initially financed lodging before taking on a larger operating role. At Broomsedge, Thompson will serve as managing partner and CEO, while majority owner Cody Sundberg shifts into the role of president. Keiser will act as senior advisor, lending his experience and resources to help elevate Broomsedge\u2019s hospitality offerings, including cottages and food and beverage.<\/p>\n

Since opening, Broomsedge has been notably accommodating to outside play, and this partnership will formalize and expand that approach. The expectation is a structure similar to the Lido<\/a> at Sand Valley<\/a>, where members have designated access windows while public tee times are available on select days throughout the week.<\/p>\n

Before this announcement, the Mike Koprowski and Kyle Franz design \u2014 routed across a dynamic, rolling property, highlighted by a set of standout greens \u2014 had already emerged as one of the most talked-about new courses in the country and was widely regarded among the best in South Carolina. With increased public access, it should quickly enter the conversation as one of the best courses in the Carolinas and Georgia that the public can actually play, alongside places like Pinehurst<\/a> and the Ocean Course at Kiawah<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Broomsedge sits in South Carolina\u2019s Sandhills, a region that has seen a surge in development in the 2020s, including projects like The Tree Farm<\/a> and Old Barnwell<\/a> in nearby Aiken.
