Howie Mandel wasn\u2019t happy with Kelly Ripa after the TV host made a comment about his looks and age after he celebrated his 70th birthday.<\/p>\n

Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, opened the interaction on Monday\u2019s episode of \u201cLive with Kelly and Mark\u201d<\/a> by congratulating the \u201cAmerica\u2019s Got Talent\u201d judge on reaching the big milestone.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t make any sense,\u201d Ripa, 55, added. Mandel then asked, \u201cWhat do you mean it doesn\u2019t make any sense?\u201d<\/p>\n

Mandel appeared to take issue with Ripa\u2019s \u201cit doesn\u2019t make any sense\u201d comment after she and her husband, Mark Consuelos, congratulated Mandel on reaching the milestone birthday. YouTube\/LiveKellyandMark<\/p>\n

Consuelos, 54, attempted to clarify his wife\u2019s comments for the comedian, telling him it\u2019s because \u201cyou look great.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat I look great?\u201d Mandel repeated. \u201cThat doesn\u2019t mean anything.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cNo, no, no,\u201d Mandel continued. \u201cI don\u2019t like that because that\u2019s a caveat, \u2019cause you tell someone you\u2019re 70, and they go, \u2018you look great\u2014’\u201d<\/p>\n

At this point, Ripa interjected to assure Mandel that the hosts were \u201cnot saying you look great for 70 [years old]. Rather, \u201cWe\u2019re saying you look great and I don\u2019t believe you\u2019re 70.\u201d<\/p>\n

Consuelos, as pictured above on Monday\u2019s episode with Ripa and Mandel, clarified his wife\u2019s comments, saying it\u2019s because the comedian looks \u201cgreat.\u201d YouTube\/LiveKellyandMark<\/p>\n

However, Mandel still wasn\u2019t having it. He doubled down on his point that the couple was saying exactly that \u201cwithout saying 70.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, no. It\u2019s like saying you\u2019re smart for a stupid person,\u201d he explained, earning laughs from the audience. \u201c\u2018Oh, you seem smart, you seem smart,\u2019 you see, no, I don\u2019t look good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Consuelos \u2014 who hasn\u2019t shied away from flexing his good looks<\/a> on the talk show \u2014 made one more attempt to salvage the situation, telling Mandel that he does \u201clook good.\u201d <\/p>\n

Finally, the comedian diffused the tense moment by teasingly agreeing he\u2019s \u201cgorgeous\u201d and revealed his \u201cridiculous\u201d workout routine that delivered the results. <\/p>\n

Ripa made another attempt to diffuse the awkward moment by telling Mandel, \u201cWe\u2019re saying you look great and I don\u2019t believe you\u2019re 70.\u201d YouTube\/LiveKellyandMark<\/p>\n

Mandel finally closed out the tense exchange by jokingly agreeing with the hosts that he looks \u201cgorgeous\u201d before moving on to the next subject. YouTube\/LiveKellyandMark<\/p>\n

\u201cYour friend, [TV show host] Jerry O\u2019Connell, got me into the most ridiculous workout I\u2019ve ever done in my life,\u201d Mandel said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI swim but have these cables which I tie onto my ankles and then I attach them to whatever is at the side of the pool.\u201d<\/p>\n
