Actor\u00a0Vince Vaughn\u00a0said late-night talk shows have all become the \u201csame\u201d and are too \u201cagenda-based\u201d for people to watch.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that the talk shows to a large part became\u00a0really agenda-based,\u201d Vaughn said Tuesday. \u201cThey were going to [evangelize] people to what they thought. You know what I mean? And so people just rejected it because it didn\u2019t feel authentic. It felt like they had an agenda. It stopped being funny and it started feeling like I was f\u2013king in a class I didn\u2019t want to take. You know? I\u2019m getting scolded.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cWedding Crashers\u201d actor made the remarks on Theo Von\u2019s \u201cThis Past Weekend<\/a>\u201d podcast after Von noted how late-night shows have been struggling after only targeting \u201cWhite redneck kind of people\u201d in their comedy routines.<\/p>\n

Vaughn added that people have likely become more drawn to podcasts over late-night shows for authenticity and to \u201cfeel like people are having a real conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you look at what happened to the talk shows and why their ratings are low, it\u2019s got only to do with the fact of what you just said, which is they all became the same show. And they all became so about their politics and who\u2019s good and who\u2019s bad. And it\u2019s like, imagine sitting next to someone like that on a f\u2013king plane,\u201d Vaughn said.<\/p>\n

Vaughn has been criticized in the past for images of himself interacting and acting cordial with President Donald Trump going back as far as 2020.<\/p>\n

Last year, he visited the White House and took a\u00a0\u201cWedding Crashers\u201d parody photo\u00a0with the president.<\/p>\n

Von asked whether he had ever felt ostracized by Hollywood because of his beliefs and actions.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got along with people for the most and always was, you know, always try to be honest about who I am. But yeah, there\u2019s times you felt like it would have been easier. It\u2019s almost like a career move. You know what I mean? But I was always the other way too. Like I\u2019m not jumping on 100% this or this because I have opinions on both sides. There\u2019s s\u2014 I don\u2019t agree with at all and then there\u2019s s\u2014 I don\u2019t agree with at all,\u201d Vaughn said.<\/p>\n

Vaughn has described himself as a libertarian and said that he ultimately believes in \u201callowing individuals to make choices.\u201d<\/p>\n
