Late-night hosts mocked Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s mail-in voting as he tries to end mail-in voting, ICE agents in US airports and a mysterious \u201cgift\u201d from Iran<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jimmy Kimmel<\/p>\n

On Tuesday\u2019s Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> Live!, the host checked in on Donald Trump\u2019s efforts to pass the so-called Save America act. The sweeping restrictive voting bill <\/a>would require proof of US citizenship for new voters and end mail-in voting, or what Trump called \u201cmail-in cheating\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s right, he prefers in-person cheating,\u201d Kimmel quipped.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe keeps saying that it was brought to his attention today that we\u2019re the only country that does mail-in voting \u2013 when is someone going to step in and tell him that\u2019s not true?\u201d he continued. \u201cThirty-four countries have mail-in voting. All the countries that have mail have mail-in voting.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump made those comments on Monday. On Tuesday, he voted by mail in Florida, for a special local election (a Democrat, Emily Gregory, flipped<\/a> the state seat for the district that contains Trump\u2019s Mar-a-Lago estate).<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s unbelievable,\u201d said Kimmel. \u201cDonald Trump claiming he wants to protect election integrity is like Bill Cosby telling you he\u2019ll watch your drink for you.\u201d<\/p>\n

In other news, Trump claimed that \u201cprogress\u201d was made with Iran thanks to a mysterious gift. As Trump explained at a press briefing: \u201cThey did something yesterday that was amazing, they gave us a present, and a present arrived today. It was a very big present, worth a lot of money \u2026 a very significant prize.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat kind of present did they send?\u201d Kimmel wondered. \u201cDid they give him a Vitamix? Is he sure it\u2019s safe to open this present when he gets it? Who would have ever guessed he could be easily manipulated by expensive gifts? Maybe they gave him a medal that says like \u2018world\u2019s greatest enemy\u2019, or something.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Daily Show<\/p>\n

On The Daily Show, Josh Johnson looked at the deployment of federal agents in US airports plagued by long lines, thanks to the partial government shutdown. \u201cThe good news is that Trump sent people to help TSA. The bad news is those people are ICE,\u201d Johnson explained before clips of the agents milling about, hanging around and talking among themselves at several airports.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re telling me ICE agents are showing up to the airport and doing absolutely nothing? Well then it\u2019s my honor to present the award for Most Improved Agency,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

To ICE, he said: \u201cYou\u2019re not doing anything, and honestly thank God! Keep doing what you\u2019re not doing.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe this is the best possible scenario for ICE,\u201d Johnson continued. \u201cSending them to the airport could be like an after-school program for them, you know? I know they\u2019re just standing around, but it\u2019s keeping them off the streets.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook, it was always obvious that sending ICE to airports wasn\u2019t going to help,\u201d he concluded. \u201cThe problem was that TSA agents weren\u2019t getting paid. So they\u2019re quitting and calling out sick. Having other random federal agencies still not be TSA isn\u2019t going to fix that.<\/p>\n

\u201cStop sending other agencies! You\u2019re not going to make the security line shorter. You\u2019re just going to make the Starbucks line longer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Seth Meyers<\/p>\n

And on Late Night, Seth Meyers<\/a> recapped Trump\u2019s visit to Elvis Presley\u2019s Graceland mansion in Memphis, Tennessee, where he signed a guitar with a Sharpie. \u201cI\u2019m sorry, you can\u2019t sign someone else\u2019s guitar,\u201d Meyers said. \u201cHow would you like it if I signed your \u2026 subpoenas?\u201d<\/p>\n

During his visit, Trump asked an employee if he could have taken Elvis in a fight. \u201cI gotta hand it to Trump, it\u2019s pretty hard to come up with an Elvis question that a Graceland employee has never heard,\u201d Meyers quipped.<\/p>\n

At a roundtable event while he was in Memphis, Trump praised the FBI director, Kash Patel, and said: \u201cOnce you get to know him, he\u2019s a wonderful guy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMan, he is the master of the backhanded compliment,\u201d said Meyers before imitating Trump: \u201cKash Patel, when you first meet him, he\u2019s the worst, just awful, but then you get used to him, you know like when you break your arm and have to wear a cast.\u201d<\/p>\n

And in a new interview, Trump claimed that his new White House ballroom would be protected from the outside and that if a drone hits it, it \u201cjust explodes and just blows away\u201d.<\/p>\n
