The entire Warriors organization was gutted by Moses Moody\u2019s devastating knee injury<\/a> that the fifth-year guard suffered in Golden State\u2019s 137-131 overtime win<\/a> over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday.<\/p>\n

Warriors star Draymond Green was one of the teammates who consoled Moody<\/a> as he was being stretchered off the floor after suffering a torn left patellar tendon injury.<\/p>\n

Green, who is one of Moody\u2019s biggest mentors since entering the NBA in 2021, shared his thoughts on why his teammate\u2019s injury was a crushing blow.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt just sucks, man,\u201d Green said on the latest episode of \u201cThe Draymond Green Show.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cMoses, being a young guy, [whom] I\u2019ve tried to take under my wing [during] his time in the league. I always compare him to Kevon Looney. [He\u2019s] just one of those guys that [when] you talk about the consummate pro, the ultimate pro, Moses does everything right as a professional.<\/p>\n

\u201c[He] puts in all the work [and] doesn\u2019t complain about anything. He\u2019s never late, never an issue. He\u2019s a coach\u2019s dream. He\u2019s a teammate\u2019s dream. He\u2019s an organization\u2019s dream. And to see him get hurt after coming back from a 10-game absence, it\u2019s just unfortunate.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou hate to see anyone get hurt, but you hate it even more to see all the guys that [do] everything right. That\u2019s who Moses is, you know, a guy who does all the right things.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

With less than 90 seconds left during the overtime period of Monday\u2019s contest, Moody sustained his knee injury after stealing the ball from Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg<\/a> and attempting a fastbreak dunk. Moody\u2019s leg collapsed, causing him to immediately grasp his left knee in agony.<\/p>\n

While the news is nothing short of heartbreaking for the Warriors, coach Steve Kerr shared a positive update<\/a> on Tuesday that Moody\u2019s MRI came back clean and there is no damage to his cartilage and bones.<\/p>\n

\u201cShout out to my guy, man,\u201d Green added. \u201cI\u2019m really crushed by this one. I\u2019m rooting for him. These things are never ideal, so I hope this is not my last time ever taking the floor with Moses. You just never know how this business works. [I\u2019m] closer to the end than I am to the beginning, but looking forward to having him back out on the court, man, in due time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Golden State already is without its stars, Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler, due to injuries. And with 10 regular-season games remaining on the schedule and the NBA play-in tournament coming up, earning a playoff spot becomes even more challenging with Moody sidelined for a long time.<\/p>\n
