\n\tAs the Muschiettis gear up for another trip to Derry, the siblings behind It (2017) and It Chapter Two<\/a> (2019) also have plans to revisit the films with a long-awaited supercut.<\/p>\n

\n\tBarbara Muschietti<\/a> recently explained that \u201ctime\u201d is what\u2019s currently holding them back from releasing a combined version of their two-part adaptation of Stephen King\u2019s 1986 novel, which Andy Muschietti<\/a> teased<\/a> back in 2019.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe didn\u2019t have time to do it because we were involved in all kind of projects,\u201d added Andy in an interview with SlashFilm<\/a>. \u201cThe show had a priority over the supercut. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe\u2019re in a moment now where we can definitely go to the studio and ask for support, but when is the question. They can say, \u2018Yeah, go for it,\u2019 but now we are sort of committed, like happily committed, to season 2 of Welcome to Derry. And there\u2019s other movie projects going around. But we\u2019re going to do it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn 2019, Andy revealed they were in \u201cearly talks\u201d with Warner Bros.<\/a> for the supercut, which would include all the scenes deleted for time constraints, as well as some newly filmed sequences. The cut is expected to surpass six hours.<\/p>\n

\n\tAndy previously explained<\/a> in January, \u201cIt will possibly have a different structure and will have extra scenes, added scenes. I still have to film some of them \u2026 because they are the interstitial fabric between the pieces of the story.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing the Season 1 finale of the prequel series It: Welcome to Derry in December, which scared up a record audience<\/a> of 6.5M U.S. viewers across its first three days, HBO boss Casey Bloys told Deadline in January that the Muschiettis are hard at work<\/a> on Season 2.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLet me say, not in limbo at all. Hardly. It was a huge success for us,\u201d said Bloys. \u201cAndy and Barbara are hard at work trying to come up with an idea for a story they\u2019d want to tell for another season. I would happily do it. One of the challenges is, there\u2019s not a book that you\u2019re basing it on, so it\u2019s invention. They want to make sure that they have a story they\u2019re excited to tell. So it\u2019s not limbo other than they need to land on something the\u201dre excited by creatively. We\u2019ll be there.\u201d<\/p>\n
