\n\tThe security guard who appears to be at the center of a debacle<\/a> involving pop star Chappell Roan<\/a> and soccer player Jorginho\u2019s stepdaughter took to social media to clarify that he was not part of Roan\u2019s team and was acting independently.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI do not normally address online rumors, but the accusations currently circulating are false and constitute defamation,\u201d Pascal Duvier began in his statement. \u201cI take full responsibility for the interactions on March 21st. I was at the hotel on behalf of another individual, and I was not part of the personal security team of Chappell Roan. The actions I took were not on behalf of Chappell Roan, her personal security team, her management, or any other individuals.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tLast Saturday, Jorginho posted a story on Instagram that alleged Roan sent her security guard to scold his wife and young daughter after the latter approached Roan briefly during breakfast in their shared S\u00e3o Paulo hotel. While Jorginho didn\u2019t name his child,\u00a0People\u00a0reported<\/a>\u00a0that it was his stepdaughter Ada Law, the daughter of actor Jude Law and Catherine Harding, Jude\u2019s ex and Jorginho\u2019s current wife.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe following morning, Roan said that the security guard wasn\u2019t a member of her personal team. \u201cI didn\u2019t even see a woman and a child, like no one came up to me, no one bothered me,\u201d said Roan in a social media post. \u201cI think these people were staying at the hotel as well. I did not ask this security guard to go up to talk to this mother and child, they did not come up to me, they weren\u2019t doing anything.\u201d Roan added, \u201cI am sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something, that you would do something, and that if you felt uncomfortable, that makes me really sad. You did not deserve that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLater that day, Harding posted<\/a> a lengthy Instagram video in response and said she didn\u2019t realize the situation \u201cwould get this crazy.\u201d She continued, \u201c100 percent, this security guard was not a security guard of the hotel \u2026 I don\u2019t know if he was [Roan\u2019s] personal security guard, but he was with her. That is all I know.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI feel like if she really didn\u2019t send him, [the security guard] overstepped a boundary because he is quite an intimidating [man],\u201d Harding said, alleging that the security guard said her daughter was \u201cbadly educated.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn his post shared on Wednesday, Duvier\u00a0said,\u00a0\u201cI made a judgment call based on information we obtained from the hotel, events I had witnessed in the days prior and the heightened overall security risk of our location. My sole interaction with the mother was calm and with good intentions, and the outcome of the encounter is regretful.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn 2018, Duvier and his security and protection company Protect Security were named in a $6.1 million lawsuit<\/a> by Kim Kardashian\u2019s insurance company two years after Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint at the\u00a0No Address Hotel\u00a0during Paris Fashion Week. American International Group claimed Duvier and Protect Security \u201cnegligently, carelessly, and\/or recklessly performed their protection, security, monitoring, inspection, and\/or surveying of\u201d the reality TV star.
