Josh Stein attended the groundbreaking ceremony for <a href=\"https:\/\/wlos.com\/news\/local\/adventhealth-build-67-bed-weaverville-hospital-legal-dealys-battles-mission-health-construction-appeal-state-approved-community-buncombe-graham-madison-yancey-counties\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">AdventHealth&#8217;s new hospital<\/a> in Weaverville on Thursday, March 26.<\/p>\n<p>The groundbreaking marks the next step in bringing the new hospital to Weaverville and expanding access to care across the region, according to a news release from AdventHealth.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This new hospital in Weaverville is an investment in the health and economic future of western North Carolina. It will create good-paying jobs, reduce transport times for first responders, and expand access to care for families across the region,&#8221; Stein said via a press release from the governor&#8217;s office.<\/p>\n<p>AdventHealth announced it will be a 67-bed hospital, which was approved by the state in 2022. HCA Healthcare&#8217;s Mission Health had appealed the state&#8217;s ruling, and following three years of court battles, the court ruled in favor of AdventHealth proceeding with the project.<\/p>\n<p>Comment with Bubbles<\/p>\n<p>BE THE FIRST TO COMMENT<\/p>\n<p>AdventHealth said the state approved the new Weaverville hospital through the Certificate of Need process, but construction couldn\u2019t begin while Mission&#8217;s appeals were under review.
