So, does the OG supermodel still live by the same workout?<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"12\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Actually, her approach may surprise you. Forget the gruelling, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/fat-loss\/a70393709\/zone-2-vs-hiit-midlife\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/fat-loss\/a70393709\/zone-2-vs-hiit-midlife\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"HIIT\" data-node-id=\"12.1\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">HIIT<\/a>-heavy regimes you might expect from someone who\u2019s built a career on looking that incredible. In fact, her fitness philosophy is refreshingly realistic \u2013 and far more achievable than you\u2019d think.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"17\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">In a 2024 appearance on the podcast Him &amp; Her, she revealed that her routine is incredibly varied, training four to five times a week across a mix of disciplines to suit her body. Here\u2019s what she does \u2013 and why it works.<\/p>\n<p>Pilates<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"24\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">As if you needed another reason to book that  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/a70622091\/women-reforming-pilates\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/a70622091\/women-reforming-pilates\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"Pilates\" data-node-id=\"24.1\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Pilates<\/a>  class, Crawford told the podcast she\u2019s been a reformer Pilates fan for over a decade, with a regular class scheduled from her home gym twice a week.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"28\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">She also highlighted its benefits for lower back pain: \u2018Even if my back\u2019s hurting, I can do Pilates because I can modify it,\u2019 she said. Pilates has its roots in rehabilitation and is widely used by physiotherapists, sports medicine practitioners and movement specialists to help strengthen deep stabilising muscles, improve movement patterns and build resilience against injury.<\/p>\n<p>Strength training<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"34\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">She doesn\u2019t stop there. Pilates builds the foundation \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/strength-training\/a68884044\/pallof-press-exercise\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/strength-training\/a68884044\/pallof-press-exercise\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"core strength\" data-node-id=\"39.1\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">core strength<\/a>, stability and mobility \u2013 while strength training layers on muscle mass and supports bone density. Together, they complement each other in a way that\u2019s particularly beneficial for women over 50 \u2013 and the research backs it up.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"43\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Bone health, in particular, is something experts (and us here at Women\u2019s Health) say we don\u2019t talk about nearly enough. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/workouts\/a40218848\/progressive-overload\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/workouts\/a40218848\/progressive-overload\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"Progressive weight training\" data-node-id=\"43.3\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Progressive weight training<\/a> \u2013 gradually increasing the load over time \u2013 sends signals to bones to lay down more mineral, helping to slow age-related bone loss. In postmenopausal women, studies show it can even modestly increase bone mineral density.<\/p>\n<p>Cardio and fitness<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"48\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">To round things off, Crawford adds <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/a70618581\/cardio-age-recommendations\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/a70618581\/cardio-age-recommendations\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"cardio\" data-node-id=\"48.1\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">cardio<\/a> into the mix. This can range from a morning jog to \u2018running stairs\u2019 \u2013 a challenging but efficient way to raise your heart rate and improve cardiovascular fitness in a short amount of time. It also strengthens the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/a704021\/what-is-glute-activation\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/a704021\/what-is-glute-activation\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"glutes\" data-node-id=\"48.3\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">glutes<\/a>, quads, hamstrings, calves and core through repeated effort against gravity.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"52\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">In her recent morning routine, she also revealed a love of  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/fat-loss\/a70756121\/rebounding-weight-loss-benefits\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/fat-loss\/a70756121\/rebounding-weight-loss-benefits\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"rebounding\" data-node-id=\"52.1\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">rebounding<\/a> on a trampoline, alongside occasional hikes with friends and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/fat-loss\/a60496853\/calories-burned-swimming\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/fat-loss\/a60496853\/calories-burned-swimming\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"swimming\" data-node-id=\"52.3\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">swimming<\/a>.
