{"id":548664,"date":"2026-03-27T15:24:16","date_gmt":"2026-03-27T15:24:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/548664\/"},"modified":"2026-03-27T15:24:16","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T15:24:16","slug":"videos-another-apparent-fireball-spotted-over-northwest-ohio-early-thursday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/548664\/","title":{"rendered":"VIDEOS: Another apparent fireball spotted over northwest Ohio early Thursday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WTOL 11 received several reports from viewers that they saw what appeared to be a fireball in the sky at 4:52 a.m. Here&#8217;s what they saw. <\/p>\n<p>TOLEDO, Ohio \u2014 Another apparent fireball was spotted in northwest Ohio, as well as other locations, early Thursday, adding to what was already a busy few weeks for sky-watchers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>WTOL 11 received several reports from viewers that they saw what appeared to be a fireball in the sky at approximately 4:52 a.m. Viewers said the fireball was green in color and appeared to be moving southward.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to the<a href=\"https:\/\/fireball.amsmeteors.org\/members\/imo_view\/event\/2026\/2137\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">\u00a0American Meteor Society<\/a>, this particular event was reported across southern Michigan, northern Ohio, and western Pennsylvania. Reports also came in around western Pennsylvania and southern West Virginia.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In northwest Ohio, reports were made in Maumee and Swanton, and video from Fostoria (credit: Rick Moyer) shows the fireball visible from there, as well. On March 17, a seven-ton object, called a &#8220;small asteroid&#8221; by NASA,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wtol.com\/article\/weather\/national-weather-service-says-a-meteor-may-have-caused-loud-boom-in-northern-ohio\/512-319f0c95-d37c-4df0-b79b-1a550fce63d9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">\u00a0exploded over Medina County<\/a> in northeast Ohio. On March 24, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wtol.com\/article\/news\/latest-news-ott\/did-you-see-it-second-fireball-meteor-lights-up-ohio-skies\/512-8f3284dc-b4a8-4135-9832-c83c272a36f3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">another fireball\u00a0<\/a>was seen passing over the Great lakes region and was spotted in Ohio and Michigan.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Michael Cushing, a professor at the University of Toledo, said Earth often has small rocks and pieces of dust that enter the atmosphere everyday, but they burn up in the atmosphere, often without people ever knowing.
