Dear Care and Feeding,<\/p>\n

My husband, \u201cBruce,\u201d and I had twins three months ago, and to say it has been draining would be putting it mildly. My husband has just made it much worse.<\/p>\n

His sister, \u201cHeather,\u201d just dropped the news on him that she broke her ankle at the ice rink yesterday.\u00a0Heather and her husband were supposed to be hosting Easter for us, his brother (who is flying in with his family), and their parents and grandparents.\u00a0Guess what?\u00a0Bruce just volunteered us to step up!\u00a0Easter is less than two weeks away, and the prospect of hosting that many people while caring for two 3-month-olds has me ready to pass out.\u00a0My husband says he\u2019ll help out, but I know from experience that\u2019s an empty promise.\u00a0I\u2019m tempted to take the kids and drive to my sister\u2019s, who lives three hours away, and spend Easter with her.\u00a0Good idea?<\/p>\n

Thats a GREAT idea and I have an even better one: Go to your sister\u2019s house, document your trip and explain why you\u2019re there, go viral on TikTok and begin your new life as a single mom influencer.<\/p>\n

In all seriousness, everyone is tripping: your husband, obviously, but also every other adult who agreed to come to your home without hearing from your mouth that you were willing to host a house full of folks for a holiday with twin babies that are still wet. I am mad at all of them, because I would never allow a family with 3-month-old twins host me for a big dinner, especially if one of the spouses was dead weight. Go to your sister\u2019s house and have a peaceful weekend. I can count at least five grown-ups who will be at your home for Easter; between them, I\u2019m sure they can come up with a nice dinner. Your husband will either learn his lesson, which is that hosting is a lot of work for the person who is actually hosting, or he is broken beyond repair, in which case I suggest considering the TikTok idea.<\/p>\n
