{"id":549249,"date":"2026-03-27T22:08:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-27T22:08:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/549249\/"},"modified":"2026-03-27T22:08:09","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T22:08:09","slug":"mountain-lion-cub-seen-in-gustine-ca-neighborhood","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/549249\/","title":{"rendered":"Mountain lion cub seen in Gustine, CA neighborhood"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Something\u2019s prowling after dark.<\/p>\n<p>A mysterious large wild animal has been <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/08\/18\/us-news\/mountain-lion-strolls-into-california-home-and-bumps-into-man-inside\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">spotted roaming around<\/a> a small Central Valley town, sparking concern among residents and prompting a warning from local police.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities in Gustine said they have received multiple reports \u2014\u00a0including Ring camera footage \u2014\u00a0appearing to show a mountain lion cub roaming through a residential neighborhood at night, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yourcentralvalley.com\/news\/local-news\/large-wild-animal-gustine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">according to KSEE24<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:0.75;display:block\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38915688\" width=\"443\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/large-wild-animal-roaming-gustine-124537416.jpg\" alt=\"Security camera footage of a mountain lion near a parked vehicle at night.\" class=\"wp-image-38915688\"  \/>The beast was seen on Ring doorbell camera footage. Facebook\/Michelle Frias via Los Banos Community Alert<\/p>\n<p>Police said there is \u201cno immediate cause for alarm,\u201d but urged residents to remain vigilant, particularly during early morning and evening hours when wildlife is most active.<\/p>\n<p>officials also advised residents to <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/02\/21\/us-news\/hungry-mountain-lion-trapped-in-socal-familys-backyard\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">closely supervise pets<\/a> and avoid leaving food or other attractants outside that could lure wild animals into neighborhoods.<\/p>\n<p>Community members are urged not to approach or attempt to interact with the animal if spotted.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who sees the cub \u2014\u00a0or any other large wild animal \u2014\u00a0is asked to contact Gustine Police Department at 209-854-1010.
