JUPITER ISLAND, Fla. (WPEC) \u2014 Professional golfer Tiger Woods was arrested on suspicion of a DUI following a two-vehicle crash involving a pickup truck and a Land Rover on Jupiter Island on Friday.<\/p>\n

He has since bonded out of jail, according to the Martin County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

During a news conference, Sheriff John Budenseik said that a little before 2 p.m., the Jupiter Island Police Department received reports of a rollover crash near 281 South Beach Road. Upon arrival, law enforcement found a pickup truck pulling a pressure cleaner trailer and a Land Rover driven by Tiger Woods rolled over on its driver\u2019s side.<\/p>\n

Budenseik said that as the investigation began, it appeared that Eldrick Tont \u201cTiger\u201d Woods was impaired. The crash investigation found the truck pulling the pressure cleaner was traveling northbound on South Beach Road and was slowing down to turn into a driveway. That\u2019s when the driver of the truck looked over and saw a dark-colored Land Rover had overtaken him at high speed.<\/p>\n

March 27, 2026 – Professional golfer Tiger Woods was arrested on suspicion of a DUI following a two-vehicle crash involving a pickup truck and a Land Rover on Jupiter Island on Friday. Budenseik said the Land Rover clipped the back end of the pressure cleaner trailer, causing it to roll onto its driver\u2019s side. Sheriff Budenseik said Woods was able to climb out of the passenger side door of the vehicle.<\/p>\n

DUI investigators responded to the scene. \u201cThey did some in-depth roadside tests, and when it was determined, he was placed under arrest and taken to the Martin County Jail,\u201d Budenseik said at the 5 p.m. news conference.<\/p>\n

Despite being arrested on suspicion of DUI, Budenseik said that when Woods was tested at the Martin County Jail, his breathalyzer test came back clear, but when asked to take a urine test, Woods refused.<\/p>\n

He now faces charges of DUI, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test. No one was injured as a result of the crash.<\/p>\n

I feel so badly he’s he’s got some difficulty. There was an accident, and that’s all I know. A very close friend of mine, he’s an amazing person, amazing man, but some difficulty.<\/p>\n

Woods was involved in notable vehicle crashes before Friday. The most significant previous incident occurred on February 23, 2021, when Woods was injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Rolling Hills Estates near Los Angeles. Authorities said Woods lost control of his SUV at a high rate of speed, left the roadway, and struck a tree. He suffered serious injuries to his right leg, requiring multiple surgeries, though investigators later determined the crash was an accident and ruled out impairment.<\/p>\n

Another well-known crash happened on November 27, 2009, near Woods’ home in Windermere, Florida. In that incident, Woods crashed his SUV into a fire hydrant and a tree just outside his driveway. He was treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital. The crash later became tied to a widely publicized personal scandal but did not result in criminal charges related to the collision itself.<\/p>\n
