An initial study has been drafted for the property owner and published by the city\u2019s Planning Department, showing the now-vacant site could fit eight townhouse apartments. <a href=\"https:\/\/sfyimby.com\/category\/studio-kda\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Studio KDA<\/a> is responsible for the application.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-45632\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/51-Brompton-Avenue-vertical-cross-section-illustration-by-Studio-KDA.jpg\" alt=\"51 Brompton Avenue vertical cross-section, illustration by Studio KDA\" width=\"1500\" height=\"918\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">51 Brompton Avenue vertical cross-section, illustration by Studio KDA<\/p>\n<p>The recently published documents were accompanied by a request for a project review meeting and not a planning application. The study, drafted by Studio KDA, writes that the resulting design with Senate Bill 684 and townhome-style apartments \u201coptimizes development value,\u201d is \u201cclearly achievable for the site opportunities and constraints,\u201d and is \u201capprovable ministerially.\u201d Once the complete application is filed, the city will have 60 days to approve it.<\/p>\n<p>Details about the project are currently preliminary and are likely to change. The development is expected to rise four floors, with eight three-bedroom apartments. The 0.15-acre property will extend down Kern Street between Brompton Avenue and Diamond Street.
