Well, we\u2019re ready for the Elite Eight. It\u2019s time to start handing out tickets to the Final Four in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n

No. 9 Iowa rallied back from an early double-digit hole and used a massive run late to get past Nebraska first on Thursday night<\/a>. The Hawkeyes took advantage of an awful defensive blunder by Nebraska down the stretch, too, in which the Huskers only sent four defenders out onto the floor after a timeout<\/a>. It marks the Hawkeyes\u2019 first trip to the Elite Eight since 1987.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ll take on No. 3 Illinois in the next round at the Toyota Center. The Illini held on late to beat Kelvin Sampson and No. 2 Houston in their home city, 65-55<\/a>. Illinois beat Iowa by six points in their regular-season meeting back in January.<\/p>\n

Then, in San Jose, it was No. 2 Purdue who had to fight to get past Texas<\/a>. Trey Kaufman-Renn had a putback game-winner with less than a second left to give the Boilermakers a 79-77 win over the Longhorns. Purdue has now won 10 NCAA tournament games over the past three seasons, including its run to the title game in 2024.<\/p>\n

The Boilermakers will get No. 1 Arizona in the Elite Eight on Saturday in San Jose. The Wildcats had no issue getting past No. 4 Arkansas<\/a> in their Sweet 16 matchup on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

On Friday night, UConn fended off Michigan State in a thriller<\/a> after nearly letting the Spartans rally all the way back. They\u2019ll get Duke in the Elite Eight in Washington D.C. on Sunday. The Blue Devils survived in a battle with Rick Pitino and St. John\u2019s<\/a> earlier in the night.<\/p>\n

In Chicago, Michigan handily got past Alabama and grabbed a 90-77 win<\/a> behind a 23-point, 12-rebound night from Yaxel Lendeborg. The Wolverines, the top seed in the midwest region, will get Tennessee in the Elite Eight. The Vols pulled away from a shorthanded Iowa State<\/a> in the final game of the night.<\/p>\n
