JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning on Atlantic Boulevard, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

The crash occurred at approximately 5:20 a.m. in the 6500 block of Atlantic Blvd. JSO\u2019s Traffic Homicide Unit said a bicyclist was riding westbound on Atlantic Blvd. when he was struck by an unknown vehicle.<\/p>\n

Jacksonville Fire Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead upon arrival.<\/p>\n

The driver did not stop to render aid. According to JSO, the suspect vehicle fled southbound on Glynlea Road following the crash.<\/p>\n

\u201cA witness describes the suspect vehicle as a dark sedan, possibly a 2012-2014 black Toyota Camry,\u201d JSO said. The suspect vehicle is expected to have front-end damage from the collision.<\/p>\n

The crash marks the 52nd traffic fatality in Duval County this year and the fourth involving a bicycle.<\/p>\n
