Even moderate rock fans can likely sing along to the chorus of Linda Ronstadt\u2019s \u201cYou\u2019re No Good<\/a>\u201c. Her first and only No. 1 hit as a solo artist, the song is on Ronstadt\u2019s Heart Like A Wheel record.<\/p>\n

Written by Clint Ballard Jr., \u201cYou\u2019re No Good\u201d is an anthem for anyone who realizes they are better off after a relationship ends. The song says, \u201cFeelin\u2019 better, now that we\u2019re through \/ Feelin\u2019 better, cause I\u2019m over you \/ I\u2019ve learned my lesson, it left a scar \/ Now I see how you really are \/ You\u2019re no good, you\u2019re no good, you\u2019re no good \/ Baby, you\u2019re no good (I\u2019m gonna say it again) \/ You\u2019re no good, you\u2019re no good, you\u2019re no good \/ Baby, you\u2019re no good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although it remains one of Ronstadt\u2019s biggest hits, she actually did not like the song.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a live vocal, and it\u2019s a terrible vocal,\u201d Ronstadt says (per Mix Online<\/a>). \u201cI was so tired. It was about getting the phrasing \u2014 I just felt like I had rushed the timing, and didn\u2019t just lay back in the groove.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnnie\u2019s Song\u201d by John Denver<\/p>\n

On John Denver\u2019s Back Home Again album is \u201cAnnie\u2019s Song<\/a>\u201c. Denver\u2019s second consecutive No. 1 hit, Denver wrote the song by himself. The inspiration for the song was his rocky marriage to his then-wife, Annie Martell.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnnie\u2019s Song\u201d says, \u201cCome let me love you, let me give my life to you \/ Let me drown in your laughter, let me die in your arms \/ Let me lay down beside you, let me always be with you \/ Come let me love you, come love me again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Denver reportedly wrote \u201cAnnie\u2019s Song\u201d in ten minutes on a ski lift. Sadly, the sweet sentiment did not ultimately save their marriage, with the former couple divorcing in 1982.<\/p>\n

\u201cI Honestly Love You\u201d by Olivia Newton-John<\/p>\n

\u201cI Honestly Love You\u201d by Olivia Newton-John is on two separate albums. Written by Jeff Barry and Peter Allen, the song appears on both If You Love Me, Let Me Know in the United States, and Long Live Love in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

An admission of romantic feelings, \u201cI Honestly Love You\u201d says, \u201cYou don\u2019t have to answer \/ I see it in your eyes \/ Maybe it was better left unsaid \/ This is pure and simple \/ And you should realize \/ That it\u2019s coming from my heart and not my head \/ I love you \/ I honestly love you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI Honestly Love You\u201d is one of several of Newton-John\u2019s crossover singles, becoming a Top 10 country hit as well.<\/p>\n
